Presidents Message Hello Members, Congratulations to our new 2007 Officers: Paul Fillmore is or new President; Dale Rupert is Vice President; Brian Harris is Recording Secretary; Tim Jesky is Membership Secretary; Bill Sommers is Treasurer and Jim Skolmowski and Phil Smith are next years Trustees. I would like to wish them all well and much success in their coming year. The field improvement committee will present their plans and estimated costs to develop the south side of the field at the October 12th meeting. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM at the American Legion Hall on Lewis Avenue. Please attend as I expect the membership may vote on some very important issues. By now everyone should have received their invitation to the annual awards banquet to be held on November 18th. Please get your reservations in as soon as possible. If for some reason you missed your invitation contact Brian Harris. Wayne Yeager or Me and we will fill you in on the details and get you signed up. I introduced a new program at the September meeting to try and help bolster the pylon racing aspect of our hobby. We need to give pylon one last chance to survive in our club. In a nutshell I am putting together a mentoring program. Many of the club experts have already given me a commitment to take on a fledgling pylon racer and help him or her get a plane together and properly set up. I will be coordinating and matching these people up. We plan to have a couple of clinics next summer to introduce the new folks to pylon and get them used to racing “around” themselves, pylons and other planes. I also hope to be able to put mentor and his grasshopper in the same racing column assuring they can work together and call for each other and avoid racing against each other. Much to my surprise I had seven people sign up already and I am sure there will be more to come. More on this at future meetings. The final club champ results are posted on the website, check it out at www.toledoshow.com and go to the members’ area. That’s the way I see it, Jim Skolmowski
